Professional Experience
Robert J. Metts is a trial attorney specializing in litigation and defense of personal injury and wrongful death, property damages, and commercial matters. He has represented clients in over 45 jury trials, in addition to numerous arbitrations and bench trials, in cases involving personal injury and wrongful death, property damage from torts, construction defects, and auto and consumer fraud and deceptive practices. A number of his cases are referred by insurance company clients for the purpose of preparing probate proceedings to complete settlements with unrepresented claimants in matters involving minors or wrongful death. Robert is also a title agent through Chicago Title and Trust and has handled real estate closings for the past 20 years.
Robert and his wife Lynn have two children, Thomas, a student at Quincy University in Illinois, and Lauren, a student at St. Ambrose University in Iowa. An active member of the community, Robert served on the board of the Northern Illinois Food Bank for several years.
